CLII--China Daily-Using Chemical Industry Association

China Daily-Using Chemical Industry Association is composed of photosensitive material, ink, glue, match and wax products. The Association has 290 members, which annual output value is RMB 3.7 billion yuan, and which earn foreign currency of USD 65 million. The products sell in over 30 countries and regions, such as the US, Japan, Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa and Hongkong etc.

The main products of photosensitive material industry are photosensitive paper and various films (black-and-white film, colour film, medical X-ray film etc.). The production capacity is 400 meters/minute of total speed and 140 million square meters of single coating capacity, basically meeting with the market demand.

The ink industry mainly produces the key accessories necessary for newspaper, book and periodical printing and packaging decoration printing, which are technology-intensive, daily-use, fine chemical products. There are over 40 kinds, with more than 560 varieties. The annual output is about 80,000 tons.

Gelatin industry produces photographic gelatin, edible gelatin, medical gelatin, industrial gelatin, hydrolytic gelatin and bone glue, based on animal bone and skin. 10,000 tons of gelatin and 30,000 tons of bone glue are produced a year, they basically meet with the demands from the black-and-white photosensitive material, edible and medical gelatin, cosmetic, match and various kinds of adhesive industries in our country.

The key products of the match industry are daily-use safety match, waxed-stick match, comb match, sulphur-free and chromium-free match, high-grade tourist match and special-purpose match. The annual capacity is over 30 million pieces.

Wax products are mainly shoe polish, jacket polish, floor polish and wax polish, which are necessary for beautifying the people's life and for interior decorative furniture. Both the product quality and quantity can meet with the market demand.

The Association publishes the publications, such as "Gelatin Science & Technology", "Ink Newsletter", "Bulletin of Ink Science & Technology", "Ink Industry News", "Photo & Picture Technology", "Photosensitive Information of Science & Technology", "Match Industry" and "Wax Products News" etc.

The Association was set up in February, 1990. Mr. Ji Shixiang is the present chairman of board of directors, Mr. Wang Jingzhong is the vice-chairman of board of directors and concurrently secretary-general, Mr. Wu Lizhong is the vice-chairman of board of directors, Mr. An Kekuan, Mr. Dai Guoping and Mr. Mu Wenjie are the deputy secretaries-general.
