China Association of Fragrance Flavor and Cosmetic Industry(CAFFCI),established on August 21,1984, is a mass organization composed, on a voluntary bases, of enterprises and institutions, of all kinds of ownership, engaged in manufacture and academic research of fragrances and flavors, as well as cosmetics in China. It is a nationwide, transregional and transdepartmental industrial organization as well as an association of the state level under the instruction of China National Council of Light Industry. The aim of CAFFCI is to serve the enterprises within the industry sectors; promote the development of the industry sectors and protect the legal rights of the enterprises. Entrusted by the concerning governmental agencies, it is also responsible for part of the administration fraction of the industry sectors. It acts as a bridge and tie between the government and enterprise as well as among the enterprises. The supreme authority body of CAFFCI is the Member's Representative Assembly with its standing office--the secretariat located in Beijing, China. Currently, CAFFCI has 478 organization members, among them 191 members are fragrance and flavor manufacturers, 222 members are manufacturers of cosmetics, and 65 members are institutions concerning academic research, engineering design and education in the industry sectors. Guided by CAFFCI, there are 5 professional committee( namely: Natural Perfume Committee; Aroma Chemical Committee; Fragrance and Flavor Committee; Cosmetics Committee as well as Science and Technology Committee)and a Center ( The Information and statistics Center for Fragrance Flavor and Cosmetic Industry). The management of CAFFCI is the Council , with Zhang Dianyi as the director and other 15 persons as deputy directors( namely:Yang Deqiu; Wang Yuquan; Ge Wenyao; Yin Beili; Jin Qizhang; Zhang Maoyuan; Lu Shijing; Chen Bin; Li Shqing; Chen Baishan; Jin Guizeng; Huang Hua; Huang Jiaqi; You Junming; Guo Xiaohong.)

Main Tasks and Activities of CAFFCI: 1.to exploit the investigation, collection, statistics and study of the basic datum of the industry sectors; to put up suggestions for the development plans and programs of the industry sectors; 2.to convey the wishes and requests of the member organizations to the government; to protect the legal rights and benefits of the members; to mediate disputes between the management; to co-ordinate the benefits among the same industry sector; 3. to carry out the activities entrusted by the governmental organs as well as others bodies; to organize the management of natural perfume bases and the co-ordination of the development of perfumes. 4.to promote the connections among the members; to organize the communication with respect to the experiences in business management and production technologies; to organize exhibition activities; to provide technical, economical and marketing information, both domestic and international, for the members; to edit and publish journals and books; 5.to perform personnel training for the enterprises; to provide instructions for the enterprises improving the business management; to hold public welfare activities and all other activities which are beneficial to the industry sectors.
