China National Arts & Crafts Association was founded in 1988 by the approval of the State Economic Committee; according to the regulations of the State Council, it registered itself in the Ministry of Civil Administration of the People's Republic of China after in 1993.
China National Arts & Crafts Association is an social and economic corporate voluntarily formed by the units , mainly by the producers, also including in arts and crafts sector the units engaged in scientific research, education and marketing. It is the all-trade organization of transregion, transdepartment and transownership.
With the purpose of promoting development of arts and crafts sector and the prosperity of arts and crafts undertakings, China Arts & Crafts Association warmheartedly serves the enterprises and the sector, and National plays the role of a bridge and a link between the government and the enterprises.The key tasks of the association are to put forward the opinions and suggestions in the fields of working out the sectoral plan , economic legislation , economic and technical policies etc. to the responsible departments of the government; to give assistance to work out the sectoral standards, and to give professional guidance to the work of sectoral inspection and test, standards and information; to organize the economic and technical exchanges among the sector, to promote the various kinds of unification within and outside the sector, to coordinate the problems occurred in the production management, technical cooperation and competition within the sector and between the sectors;to draw out the sectoral regulations and rules and to make supervision; to cooperate with the responsible departments of the government in implementing the policies of arts and crafts experts and professional technicians; to implement the measures to protect, develop and upgrade the excellent traditional skills; to carry out consultative service and to sponsor the commodity fairs; and to actively carry out the international exchanges and cooperation.
The supreme power organization of China National Arts & Crafts Association is the members' representative assembly, the council and the standing council are elected on the basis of democratic consultation. Under the Association, there are one branch and six specialized committees, namely:
Foreign Trade Branch, China National Arts & Crafts Association;
Jewelry Specialized Committee,China National Arts & Crafts Association;
Carpet Specialized Committee,China National Arts & Crafts Association;
Jade Specialized Committee,China National Arts & Crafts Association;
Artificial Flower Specialized Committee,China National Arts & Crafts Association; and Special Skill Specialized Committee,China National Arts & Crafts Association.
China National Arts & Crafts Association has now more than 1,700 members, the standing office is the secretariat of the Association, its address is in Beijing, each of the specialized committee handles official business at the place where the chairman member unit is.
China National Arts & Crafts Association warmly welcome the friends of the same sector to strengthen the contact with us, to mutually cooperate and commonly promote the development of the arts and crafts sector.
