CHEAA,at present ,has 396 members which can be found in 24 provinces and municipalities directly under the central government. The secretariat, as its standing body, is established in Beijing, the routine duties of which are managed by secretary general. CHEAA is devided into five professional committees separately organizing and coordinating vocational activities of refrigeration,air condition,cleaning, ventilation and electric heat, for which units of professional head committees take the responsibility.

CHEAA serves as a bridge and a tie between the government and household electrical appliances industry. Since its establishment, CHEAA has provided various kinds of service for enterprises' production and management, reported energetically to government departments the developing conditions of household electrical appliances industry, reflected ' enterprises' opinions and demands, put forward drafts for developmental programs of China's household electrical appliances industry, and it has organized and laid down standards for household electrical appliances products, which plays an active role in promoting industry's further development.
