China Weighing Instruments Association

The China Weighing Instruments Association(CWIA) is a nation-wide
industry organization as a legal body upon the approval of the government,
it is a democratic and autonomous authority in charge of administration of
weighing instruments industry in China. The CWIA was set up in October
1983.
[PURPOSE] The aim of CWIA is to act as an active agent between
enterprises and governmental departments, unite all the domestic
enterprises, institutions and individuals in scale manufacture, deal,
research and education fields, push technical level forward, speed
up modernization of weighing instruments industry in China.
[MISSION] The mission of CWIA is to carry out policies and orders of the
government, draw up programmes about development of the
industry and standards of measurement, promote interchanges
and cooperations in management, economy, technique fields,
investigate and analyze the situation of the industry, provide
basises and advices for macro-policies of the government and
management of enterprises, organize academic movements and
promote development of the industry at home and abroad,
guarantee legal rights of the enterprises.
[ACTION] The CWIA holds annual meeting every year, sponsors
international weighing instruments exhibition every odd year(the
first international weighing instruments exhibition was held in 1995
in Beijing) and China weighing instruments exhibition every even
year(the first China weighing instruments exhibition was held in
1996 in Beijing).
[NUMBER] The CWIA has over 300 members, among them, there are
group members and well-known individual members.
