 　 China National Packaging Decorating & Printing Industry Association was founded on May 4th, 1993, approved and registered with the Ministry of Civil Administration of the People's Republic of China; is the national, sectoral organization of transregion, transdepartment and transownership; is the social and economic organization which is formed on a voluntary basis by the enterprises and institutions and the related ones engaged in the production, development, marketing, scientific research and consultation of packaging and decorating products and printed matters.

With the purpose of vitalizing and developing the packaging decorating and printing industry, China National Packaging Decorating & Printing Industry Association plays the role of a bridge and a link between the government and her member units, and between her member units; communicates the intentions of the government; reports the members' wishes and demands; safeguards the legitimate rights and interests of the members; assists the government to implement the sectoral management in the packaging decorating and printing sector and provides service.

The main tasks of the Association are as follows:
  1. To make investigation in the fields of production, management and marketing etc., to provide information consultation for the members;
  2. To study the developing orientation of the sector, to put forward to the government departments the suggestion of formulating the sector's programme and policies;
  3. To promote the transalliance of the enterprises, to coordinate the production, management and technical cooperation between the enterprises;
  4. To assist the enterprises in utilizing foreign investment and having technical cooperation, and in doing technical innovation;
  5. To organize and work out the product standards, to test and supervise the product quality, and to crack down on the counterfeit;
  6. To organize the technical training, to assist in sponsoring the specialized training courses of packaging decoration and printing;
  7. To take part in the meetings held by the international organizations, to sponsor and participate the international packaging decorative and printing fairs;
  8. To accept the visiting groups from abroad, to assist the member units in promoting product export;
  9. To edit and publish the sectoral publications, to exchange the domestic and foreign information;
  10. To assist the government departments to map out the sectoral rules and regulations.
