CLII--china optometric and optical association

With over 530 members through 10 years' development, China Optometric and Optical Association(COOA) was established in May, 1985. China Optometric and Optical Association is an all-trade organization which is transregion, transtrade and regardless of ownership. COOA is a social economic body, whose members are manufacturers, management, research institutes, institutions, reserchers, specialists, well-known personage and special devotors.
Under COOA, there are 9 special committees, they are Optometry Committee, Quality Control Committee, Spectacle Frame Committee, Ophthalmic Lenses Committee, Contact Lenses Committee, Equipment & Instrument Committee, Science & Education Committee. The committees carry out related professional activities in accordance with the entrustment of COOA. There is also the "Spectacle" magazine publishing house which publishes "China Glasses Science-Technology Magazine".

As an important part of China Council of Light Industry, COOA performs the function of coordination and administration of Chinese optical industry.
As the role of a bridge and a tie between the government and enterprises, COOA has to accomplish the work enstrusted by the government, implement government's policy and decrees, promote the development of the optical industry.
As an important core of national optical industry, COOA has been making many effective work in working out plan, developing professional market, carrying on technical training, holding international exhibitions and providing information service etc.
With the deepening of opening to the outside world, COOA will play even important role in actively in carrying on international exchange and cooperation.
