Shanghai WhiteCat (Group) Co., Ltd. grew from Shanghai Synthetic Detergent Factory which was well known for the 'WHITECAT' series of detergent products. Shanghai Synthetic Detergent Factory was the first Chinese company to produce washing products. It launched the first package of granulated washing powder in late 50's, and became the origin of detergent industry in China. It was reorganized into Shanghai WhiteCat (Group) Co., Ltd. in October 1995, and has been develoed into an influential large-scale state-owned corporate that comprises that comprises investment management, technology research and development, and human resources development centers.

Shanghai WhiteCat Co., Ltd. the major sector of the WhiteCat Group, is a joint venture established by Shanghai Synthetic Detergent Factory and Sun Kung Kai China Industrial Investments Ltd., Hongkong, with a commoninvestment of US$30 million. In the past few years, WHITECAT has successfully deployed its localization strategies by establishing WhiteCat (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. and WhiteCat (Liaoning)Co., Ltd. This has significantly extended the geographical coverage of WhiteCat products while growing rapidly in terms of organization itself.

The total production volume of the Group in 1997 amounted to 290,000 tons, the sales income being RMB 1600 million yuan and the market share 11%. It is now among the 500 Top Companies in China and ranks the No.1 biggest company in the detergent industry . Many WHITECAT products have been awarded prizes as 'National Merit', 'ministry merit', and 'Municipal Merit'.The WhiteCat Washing Powder and Ultra Concentrated Washing Powder have been awarded the State Silver Prizes, and for four consecutive years, rated as the best sellers in the 'Gold Bridge' competition. WHITECAT is assessed as a famous trade mark of Shanghai. WHITECAT products enjoy good reputation not only in China, but also in the world and are exported to over 10 countries and regions.

Products Introduction

WHITECAT consists of six series of products. For example, Fabric detergents include all kinds of super-concentrated detergent, fabric softener, detergent for silk and wool, cleaner for collor&cuff and etc. Kitchen cleaners include detergent for disher and fruit, APG hand dishwashing liquid,greasy dirt cleaner and etc. Washroom cleaners include bathtub cleaner, tide freshing auto toilet cleaner and etc. Personal care products include gentle condition moisturising, disinfectant liquid soap, Agile hand disinfectant, the new products ate all sorts of toilet tissue, high quality facial tissues, miraculous pad, baby towel and washing net and so on. Room cleaners include glass cleaner, multi-polish, fabric protector, bacteriumcide detergent, carpet cleaner and so on. Industrial detergenty includes a lot of chemical, such as glycerine, stearic acid and sulphonic acid.At present, Shanghai WhiteCat (Group) Co., Ltd.is turning to the packing trade and other industries in order to start the new field.
